How to make short clips from a recording
A long podcast recording can contain several useful moments, but a short clip still needs to make sense on its own. FlareClip’s long audio to short videos tool suggests highlights and turns them into videos with titles, a cover and an optional waveform. Start with the recording, then review what each suggested clip actually says.
1. Choose a recording you can use
Choose an audio file you own or have permission to edit. MP3, WAV and M4A are among the supported formats. Preview the file locally to check that you selected the right episode and that the speech is audible. Keep the original recording for later reference.
2. Set the length and presentation
Choose one of the available clip-length ranges. Pick a template, add a cover image if you want one, and decide whether to show the audio waveform. Use a vertical ratio for a vertical video or choose another available ratio to suit your destination. These controls set the presentation; they do not decide whether a quote is complete.
3. Create the clips
Sign in and select Create, following the allowance or cost information shown for your account. This long-audio workflow analyzes the recording and gives each selected highlight a title. The output is a short video, rather than a promise to cut and export separate MP3 files. Keep the task link so you can return to the results.
4. Listen for a complete point
Listen to each candidate from beginning to end. A clip that starts with “that worked” may need the question that came before it. Keep enough context to understand who or what the speaker means, and avoid cutting away an important condition or exception. Check the suggested title against the spoken words; a catchy title should not change their meaning.
5. Check the video before downloading
Play the result and check the start, ending, sound, title and cover. If a candidate loses essential context, choose another candidate or prepare a complete excerpt from the original recording and process it again. Do not assume an editor can restore audio that the rendered clip does not contain. Download the version you have checked and retain the source audio.
