How to turn audio into an MP4 video

Pair a recording with a cover or template, add a short title and optionally show an audio waveform. FlareClip’s audio-to-video tool can make an MP4 for sharing a spoken note, interview excerpt or podcast recording.

Prepare the audio you want to share

Choose a recording you own or have permission to publish, including the voices, music and other material it contains. Use an accepted audio format shown on the page, such as MP3, WAV or M4A. Prepare an excerpt beforehand if you only need part of a longer recording, and make sure it fits the current output-length conditions. Listen for a complete beginning and ending and keep the source file.

Select the file and listen to the local preview

Open the audio-to-video tool and choose your audio file. Wait for its duration to load, then use the audio player to check that you selected the right recording. File selection and the local preview happen before cloud processing; follow the sign-in and creation steps when you are ready to submit the job. If the duration cannot be read, use the page’s retry option or another supported copy of the recording.

Choose the artwork and title

Select an available visual template. You can add your own or an authorized JPG, PNG or WebP cover, then enter a short title that accurately describes the recording. For an interview excerpt, name the subject of the answer rather than putting the whole transcript in the title. Check the cover and text together in the preview. Turn the audio waveform on or off to suit the design.

Choose the frame and available quality

The page offers vertical 9:16, square 1:1 and landscape 16:9 output. Compare the title and cover at the size people will watch. Keep important lettering away from the edges and use a title that remains readable on a phone. Review the resolution choices and any plan conditions shown. A higher video resolution changes the visual output setting; check the sound itself in the recording.

Create the video and check the MP4

Select Create and follow the sign-in, allowance or processing prompts. When the result is ready, open the output and download the MP4. Play the actual file with sound, check its duration and ending, and inspect the title, cover and waveform if enabled. The local artwork preview is a design check; the downloaded file is what you should review before posting. Keep both the original audio and the finished video.
